Frank C. Devine

Frank C. Devine was born October 23, 1882 at Mt. Carroll, Illinois and passed away at Gothenburg, Nebraska on August 8, 1960.

He was married to Lottie May Gammill and they were the parents of three children; Herald, Mildred (Bill) Widick of Farnam, and Leila (Roland) Gruber of Gothenburg, Nebraska.

Services were held at the Farnam Methodist Church in Farnam, Nebraska on Wednesday, August 10, 1960 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Harold O. Massie officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Charles Davis and Robert Zeeh with Mrs. Raymond Smith, as pianist.

Pallbearers were Wayne Devine, Dale Devine, Gilbert Devine, Gene Speck, Ellis Widick, and Morris Devine.

Final resting place is in the Farnam Cemetery, Farnam, Nebraska.

Frank Charles Devine was born October 23, 1882, in Mount Carroll, Illinois, and died at his home in Gothenburg, Nebraska, on Monday, August 8, 1960 at the age of 77 years.

As a small boy he moved with his parents to Frontier County, where he grew to manhood.

He was married to Lottie M. Gammill at the Methodist Church in Farnam on December 22, 1911. They lived at Wallace for four years then returned to the Farnam community where they lived for 23 years, and since that time lived at Cozad and Gothenburg, where he was caretaker of the golf course for the past two years.

Through the years, he was a hard working man, and his friendliness and integrity won him a host of friends.

He is survived by his wife, Lottie M. Devine of Gothenburg, and three children: Herald W. Devine of Portland, Oregon, Mildred M. Widick of Farnam, and Leila L. Gruber of Gothenburg. One daughter, Eva. E., preceded him in death. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and by two brothers, Clarence Devine of Cozad, and William Devine of Wiggins, Colorado.

Funeral services were held at the Farnam Methodist Church on Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Harold O. Massie. Mrs. Charles Davis and Robert Zeeh sang, accompanied by Mrs. Raymond Smith. Pallbearers were Wayne Devine, Gilbert Devine, Dale Devine, Morris Devine, Gene Speck and Ellis Widick. Interment was in the Farnam Cemetery.
