Goldie Elizabeth (Kilburn) Nickerson
Goldie Elizabeth Kilburn was born at Earl, Nebraska, (A post
office and store east of Orafino, Nebraska) Frontier county, on
February 20, 1891, and departed this life on March 13, 1944, at
the age of 53 years and 22 days.
She lived nearly all her life in and near this community.
On December 30, 1908, she was united in marriage to Milo
James Nickerson at Trenton, Missouri, soon returning to Nebraska
to make their future home. To this union eight children were
born, four sons and four daughters: Donald and Mrs. Wilber
(Helen) Sheffield of Farnam; Mrs. (Lois) Anderson of Gothenburg;
Mrs. Gordon (Gladys) Cross of Moorefield; Delmar, serving in the
armed forces overseas; Harold, Maxine, and Gene at home. Her
husband, father and one sister preceded her in death.
She leaves to mourn her passing, eight children, ten
grandchildren, her mother, Mrs. Stella Kilburn and sister, Mrs.
Ernest Warren, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Orafino church Thursday,
March 16, 1944, with Rev. Walter H. Lenz of Eustis officiating.
Burial was at Farnam.
