Fern Banks, 84, died Thursday at the Gothenburg hospital. She was born April 6, 1899, in Holdrege.

Mrs. Banks was a former school teacher who had taught in Frontier, Lincoln and Cherry counties. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Farnam.

Survivors include her husband, Arvid of Gothenburg; and two nephews.

Services were Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Farnam with the Rev. Karl Lent officiating. Burial was in the Farnam Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to the Gothenburg Memorial Hospital Long-term Fund or the church.

McVay Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
