Obituary Collection
Ceora Brock

Ceora Mercedes Brock, 73, oldest child of Ralph Merle and Ruth Henderson Earhart, was born in Keota, Iowa, on Nov. 21, 1911, and departed this life Aug. 10, 1985, in the long term unit of Gothenburg Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Brock grew up and attended school in Farnam and was united in marriage to Everett Kenneth Brock on Feb. 22, 1933. He was accidentally killed Oct. 22, 1949 while employed by Central Nebraska Public Power and Irrigation District.

Survivors are a son, Jerry Lee Brock of Castle Rock, Colo., Mrs. Melvin (Karen Kay) Whipple of Windsor, Colo. and Pamela Sue Brock of Gothenburg; a sister, Mrs. Vern (Mildred) Brouillette of Farnam and a brother, Keith Earhart of Fresno, Calif.; and three grandchildren; Jeffery Alan, Kimberly Sue and Christopher Lee. Ceora was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother Kenneth Earhart of Farnam.

Services were held Tuesday, Aug.13, at the United Methodist Church in Gothenburg, with the Rev. James McChesney officiating. Music was provided by Larry Viter and Mrs. Clifford Geiken. Internment was in the Farnam Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Dennis Toberer, Jim Brock, Gene Bosch, Doug Brouillette, Robert Short and Ronald Rodgers.

A memorial has been established. McVay Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
