H. S. Haskins
Passed Away Sun.

Henry S. Haskins, a long time resident of the Farnam community, passed away early Sunday morning at his home. He had occured failing health with a heart attack over a month ago.

Mr. Haskins was 84 years of age and been a active citizen after his retirement in Farnam from the farm. He sold for a seed corn company, raised large gardens and poultry.

A member of the Methodist Church he was ever interested and active in its progress.

The Haskins were preparing to move soon, closer to the business district of town, and had just had a sale of their extra equipment on Saturday.

He is survived by his wife, Clara, two daughters and several grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 3 in the Farnam Methodist Church with Rev. Harold O. Massie officiating.

Mrs. Anton Kotschwar, Mrs. Harold Bick, Dale Montgomery and Irvin Hess sang, accompanied by Mrs. Raymond Smith.

Pallbearers were: Bernie Lindvall, A. H. Jorgensen, Merle Crossgrove, Jake Ernst, C. E. Pollard and Weaver Cole.

Interment was in the Farnam Cemetery.

McVay-Olesen Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Henry S. Haskins

Henry S. Haskins, the son of Charles and Mary Ellen Haskins, was born August 26, 1878, at Rock Bluffs, Nebraska. He passed away March 31, 1963, at the age of 84 years, 7 months and five days.

He spent his childhood in Kansas and then moved with his grandparents to the Curtis community. Later, he lived both at Hershey and North Platte.

He was united in marriage to Katherine Smith and to this union were born four children. Preceding him in death were his wife, Katherine in 1921; his sons, Theron, in 1959 and Carol, in 1960; his parents and a second wife, Elma Tanner Haskins.

In 1929, he moved to the Farnam community residing on a farm southwest of town for a few years. In November 1944, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Clara Stebbins.

He is survived by his wife, Clara; two daughters, Mrs. Garnet Brannan and Mrs. Hilda Beisner, and by daughters-in-law, Mrs. Fern Haskins, and Mrs. Elinore Haskins, all of North Platte; by eight grandchildren and by eleven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 3, 1963, in the Farnam Methodist Church with Rev. Harold O. Massie officiating. Interment was in the Farnam Cemetery. McVay-Olesen Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
