Edward W. "Ed" McCormack

Edward W. "Ed" McCormack, 69, a resident of Elwood since 1964, died July 13, 1992, at the Cozad Hospital.

He was born June 5, 1923, at Mulberry, Kan., to Benjamin and Nellie Guss McCormack and was a Mulberry High School graduate. He married Harriet Bellamy on May 6, 1944. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II.

He lived in Cozad and Idaho before moving to Elwood where he was a member of American Legion Post 290.

During his lifetime, he worked as an auto mechanic and was a tractor mechanic for Bellamy Implement in Elwood.

Survivors include his wife, Harriet of Elwood; a son, Jerold of Columbia, MO; a daughter, Barbara (Mrs. James) Hickenbottom of Lexington; a brother, John of Pittsburg, KS; two sisters, Mary Pasini of Milwaukee, WI, and Dorothy Totman of Girard, KS; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Billy; a brother, a sister and a great-granddaughter.

Services were 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel in Cozad with the Rev. Roger Gillming of Elwood First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in the Farnam Cemetery with military honors graveside.

A memorial has been established.

Berryman Funeral Home in Elwood was in charge of arrangements.
