Iva Zoe (McCarl) McMichael

Iva Zoe McCarl, eldest chld of William and Anna McCarl was born near Van Wert, Decator County, Iowa on September 16, 1883.

She with her parents, brother and sisters came to Frontier County, Nebraska in May 1896 and has spent the rest of her life in this community with the exception of two years that she resided near Nelson, Nebraska.

On August 20, 1902 she was united in marriage to Albert E. McMichael. To this union four daughters were born; Edna, Emily, Beulah, and Edith.

She was saved and sanctified in 1918 and has lived a constant Christian life since. She was a member of the Nazarene Church.

On August 20, 1952, Eva and Albert celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Her husband, Albert, preceded her in death, her parents, two brothers, Vern and Henry McCarl and a sister, Mrs. Julia McMichael; two infant granddaughters and one great grandson.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters; Mrs. Edna Morton, Eustis, Nebraska; Mrs. Emily Frank, Union, Oregon; Mrs. Beulah Russell, Farnam; Mrs. Edith Morton, Canby, Oregon; two sisters, Mrs. May Smith , Buena Park, California; Mrs. Etta Bryant of Anaheim, California; a brother, Roy McCarl of Denver, Colorado. Also two aunts, Mrs. Florence Gill of Castle Rock, Colorado; Mrs. Nora Boles of Osceola, Iowa; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Dearest Mother, thou hast left us
and thy loss we deeply feel.
But ’tis God that has bereft us
Ye can all our sorrow heal.
Yet again, we hope to meet thee.
When in heaven with joy to free thee,
Where no farewell tear is shed.
