Minnie S. Salsow Smallfoot

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Farnam Methodist church for Mrs. August Smallfoot, who passed away Friday after an illness of several weeks. The services were in charge of Rev. Fred Johnson, pastor of the church. Burial was in the Farnam cemetery.

Minnie Sarah Salsow, daughter of Henry and Sophia Salsow was born August 13, 1866 at Dixon, Ill., and passed away at the Reeves memorial hospital in Farnam, Nebr., Dec. 10, 1937, at the age of 71 years, 3 months and 27 days.

She came from Illinois to Otoe county, Nebraska, with her parents in the year of 1871. There she met and married August Smallfoot, Sept. 23, 1883. To this union 13 children were born of which seven preceded her in death. Also her husband having passed away in Dec. 1932.

She moved to Farnam with her family in 1920 and has made this her home since. She was a member of the Lutheran church.

She leaves to mourn her passing, five sons, Fred, Walter and Albert all of Farnam; Earl of Gothenburg; Chester of North Platte and one daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Hazen, also of Farnam; one sister, Mrs. Matilda Fastenau of Gurley; thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and a host of friends, who will miss her greatly.
