Levi Leroy Stebbins

L. L. Stebbins Passed Away

People of this community were grieved to learn of the death of L. L. Stebbins, last Saturday afternoon. Mr. Stebbins had been in failing health for some time, but his condition was not considered very serious, until the latter part of the week.

Mr. Stebbins had made many friends during his long business career here at Farnam and will be greatly missed by his friends as well as the loved ones left to mourn his passing.

Levi Leroy Stebbins was born in Sherman, Chautauqua County, New York, May 10, 1859. He passed away December 1, 1934, at Holdrege, Nebraska, at the age of 75 years, 6 months and 21 days.

He came to this community in 1898, and for the past 33 years, has been engaged in the hotel business at Farnam.

He has made many friends in his business and community life.

He was married to Laura Moore, September 22, 1909.

Relatives that preceded him in death are, his father, William Stebbins, his mother, Sarah Stebbins, two brothers, Milton and Orvil and a sister, Ada Stebbins.

He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, Laura Stebbins, of Farnam: a brother, Jay Stebbins, Mishawauka, Ind., one daughter, by former marriage, Mrs. Gertrude Jones, and two grandchildren, Eva May and Stanley Jones of Cresco, Iowa, and several nephews and nieces, besides a host of friends.

The funeral was conducted at the parlors of the hotel, Monday, Dec. 3 at 2:30 by Rev. J. E. Craig, of Grafton, assisted by Rev. Floyd A. Smith, with committal service at the grave by Rev. C. R. Tanner.

Interment was in the Farnam cemetery.

The music was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pollard, Miss Lila Maurer, and Mr. and Mrs. Dan McNickle.
