Francis Taylor

Francis Ralph Taylor passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1982, at Gothenburg. Services were Thursday, Sept. 30 at the McVay Memorial Chapel with Rev. Melvin Brown officiating. Interment was in the Farnam Cemetery.

Ralph was born Dec. 9, 1922 near Donovan, Ill. He was the son of George and Grace Taylor. He was one of nine children and was educated in the Iroquois Public Schools. Ralph moved with his mother and family to Sheldon, Ill, in 1936.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy. Soon after coming home from the Navy, he moved to Farnam and worked on the farm of his cousin, Jim Eckstein. Following the death of Mr. Eckstein in 1979, Ralph retired and moved to Gothenburg.

He is survived by three brothers: Frank Taylor of Sheldon, Ill., Elmer Taylor of Iroquois, Ill., Robert Taylor of Lake Orion, Ill., and one sister, Mrs. Thelma Murphy of Lafayette, Ind.

Mrs. Clifford Geiken was organist. Casket bearers were Gayle Strayer, Earl Fenner, Wayne Benash, Millard Parker, Mack Ryan and Virgil Geiken.
