John Fielding Wyckoff was born August 20th 1858 in Benton county, Iowa near Urbana.

He grew to manhood on his father's farm, and at the age of 20 years, he was united in marriage to Margaret D. Furgeson, of Urbana.

To this union seven children were born, two daughters and five sons [Morris]. The family moved to a farm south of Farnam in 1906 and have made this their home from that date.

His last illness was contracted while in Iowa caring for his aged mother. The last days of his life were marked by an almost constant prayer to recover.

When it was definately known that he could not regain health, he told his family that all was settled and he was ready to go when the Lord called him.

He departed this life at his home, in Farnam, Sept. 14, 1923 at the age of 65 years and 25 days. He leaves to mourn his untimely loss, an aged mother, five brothers, and one sister, a devoted wife, whose constant care has been his only comfort through the long hours of his suffering, two daughters, and four sons, one son, James E. having died in infancy and waits to meet his father in that better world.
