Obituary

[Ethzelda] M. Mayfield was born in Osage , Ia., October 9, 1861 and departed this life at her home in Farnam, Nebr., August 30, 1920; age 59 years, 10 months and 21 days.

She was united in marriage to [Newsam] Rank, February 4, 1879; to this union was born seven children, three of which preceded her to the beyond; two boys and two girls survive her.

She moved to Frontier county, Nebraska in the year 1906 and lived on a farm south of Farnam and made many warm friends who mingle their tears of sympathy with the husband and children.

She moved to Farnam, Nebr., in the year 1909, and to Dickens, Nebr., in the year 1916, and back to Farnam in 1920. She was united in marriage to Simon Starkey March 16th, 1920.

She was converted and united with the Methodist Episcopal church in early life, of which she was a member at the time of her death. She was a patient sufferer and bore her pain in much faith and prayer. The last words she was heard to speak was in prayer and closed her eyes in death to awake in the great beyond.

She leaves to mourn, a husband, four children, six brothers, two sisters, seventeen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held from the Methodist church, conducted by Rev. T. E. Gillet. Interment in Farnam cemtery.
