Austin E. Babcock

Austin Babcock, 70, of Cozad died Dec. 29, 2000, at his home in Cozad.

He was born April 1, 1930, at Kendalville, Ind., to Joseph and Goldie Babcock. He graduated from high school in  Arcadia, Ohio, in 1948. He served in the U.S. Air Force. After living in Phoenix, he moved to Lexington where he managed a restaurant-lounge. He later moved to Eustis where he owned and operated Abee's Pizza. He lived in Ohio where he was employed with the railroad and moved to Cozad in 1990. He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed sports.

Mr. Babcock is survived by two daughters, Teri (Kris) Fingerhut of Cozad and Tami (Rod) Buell of Eustis; two sons, Alan (Judy) of Spring Lake, N.C., and Kevin (Kristina) of Beverly, Mass.; two brothers, Jack Babcock of Lima, Ohio, and Glen (Marie) Babcock of Rawson, Ohio; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell with the Rev. Robert E. Sachs officiating.
