John Louis Ozanne

John Louis Ozanne, a Lexington native, died March 22 in Wichita, Kan., at age 38. He was born Dec. 16, 1943, at Lexington to Allen L. (John) and Grace (Thomalla) Ozanne.

He was graduated from McCook High School in 1962. He continued his education at McCook College and was graduated in 1968. He attended Sacred Heart College of Wichita, Kan., graduating in 1972.

He was a Vietnam veteran, serving six years with the U.S. Navy as a PC3 and on the U.S.S. Union and then on the U.S.S. Thomaston.

On April 19, 1968, he married Pamela Stewart of McCook. The couple had two sons, Joe and John.

Ozanne owned and operated “Little John’s Pizza” restaurant in Haysville, Kan. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Wichita and the Knights of Columbus.

A funeral mass was held March 24 in Wichita with Father Dennis Huse and Father Thomas Ozanne C.PP.S. as celebrants. A second funeral mass was held March 26 in St. Ann’s Church in Lexington with Father James Warner and Father Thomas Ozanne C.PP.S., the celebrants. Interment was in St. Ann’s Cemetery at Lexington.

Survivors include his wife, Pamela; two sons, Joe and John; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Ozanne of Lexington; a brother, Chaplain Thomas Ozanne, a captain in the U.S. Army at Ft. Lewis, Wash.; and a sister, Mrs. Douglas (Virginia) Chase of Wichita, Kan.
