Kenneth L. Pedersen, 65, of North Platte passed away Friday, March 14, 2008, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.

He was born Oct. 28, 1942, at Denver to Roland and Oleda Gustafson Pedersen. Kenneth graduated from Wichita High School.

On Sept. 6, 1964, he was united in marriage to Ruth Y. Welch at Farnam. They moved to North Platte in 1971. He had many years in construction, railroad, Municipal Light and Water and most recently with the State of Nebraska.

He enjoyed stock-car races, fishing, camping with grandkids and their sporting events.

Survivors include his daughter, Brenda (Jim) Clair of Maxwell; his sons, David Sr. (Stacy) Pedersen of Brady and Troy (Doreen) Pedersen of Maxwell; four brothers, Gerry (Susan) Pedersen of Oregon, Howard "Howdy" Pedersen of West Virginia, Carl (Judy) Pedersen of Michigan and Roland "Rolly" (Kay) Pedersen of Ohio; nine grandchildren, Brandy, Heather, Rochelle, David Jr., Matthew, Brodie, Crystal, Trey and Kaitlyn; four great-grandchildren, Jocelynn, Jerimiah, Muhtese and Hayden; special friends, Chris and Mitzy Hayes; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a brother, Paul "Arne" Pedersen; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert L. and Mildred Welch; a brother-in-law, Douglas Welch; and a sister-in-law, Charlene Pedersen.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Larry Milliken officiating. Burial will be in the Moorefield Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Carpenter Memorial Chapel.
