Edna A. (Bick) Rieker

Edna A. Rieker, 93, longtime Eustis resident, died Monday (July 10, 1989) at a Cozad nursing home. She was born Oct. 23, 1895, at Seward to William and Amanda Pendell Bick and at the age of 9, moved with her parents to Buffalo, Wyo. In 1905 they moved to a farm near Farnam. She attended schools at Buffalo and Farnam.

On May 15, 1915, whe married Edward Rieker. They made their home in a sod house west of Eustis for four years, later moving to a farm northwest of Eustis. In 1948 they moved into Eustis.

Mrs. Rieker was a 55-year member of the United Methodist Church and UMW and member of the American Legion Auxiliary 257, Eustis Women's Club, WBA Lodge, happy Go Lucky extension club and Eustis Birthday Club.

Survivors include two sons, Gilbert and wife Nadine of Eustis and Kenneth and wife Lois of Gothenburg; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1957, three sisters and five brothers.

Services will be Friday 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Leypodt officiating. Burial will be in the West Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, 3-9 p.m., at the Berryman Funeral Home in Eustis.

Memorials are suggested to the church or donor's choice.

Berryman Funeral Home in Eustis is in charge of arrangements.
