Mildred Dorothy Tillinghast, 91, formerly of Arthur, died Dec. 22, 1998, in Tulsa Okla.

She was born Sept. 12, 1907, in Farnam to U.T. and Nettie Wade. She graduated from Weeping Water High School. She taught school in Cherry, Garden and Arthur Counties before she married Wayne Tillinghast on May 17, 1930. They lived in Arthur County. her husband preceded her in death in 1989. She sold the ranch in 1991 and moved to Oklahoma.

Survivors include three sons, Lyle (Doris) of Collinsville, Okla., Bernard of Grand Island, and Jerry (Linda) of Holts Summit, Mo.; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and four brothers.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. MST Saturday at the Arthur Cemetery with Rev. Glendon Epp officiating.
