Clinton Allan Wear

Clinton Allan Wear, 53, died at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska, on January 15, 2006.

He was born in North Platte, Nebraska, on April 2, 1952, to Alfred and Helen (Flock) Wear.

Clinton attended and graduated from Farnam High School in 1970. He played football and saxophone in the school band. He was involved with the Boy Scouts of America where be obtained the highest honor that of the Eagle Scout. A year after graduation, Clinton was married to Mary Purdy and moved to Broken Bow, Nebraska. After a short time they moved to Elwood, Nebraska, where they lived for 20 years before they separated. Clinton had done many jobs from working at New Holland to driving a pay loader, but his favorite job was over the road trucking. Even though he loved being on the road he loved being home around family. He enjoyed camping at Wellfleet Lake and fishing pole in his hand and wild pants on.

Survivors include his mother, Helen of Curtis, Nebraska; a daughter, Billie and her husband, James Taylor of Cambridge, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Cole and Lora Taylor and Jesper Olausson, all of Cambridge, Courtney Taylor of Texas and Candace Taylor from Nebraska; and one brother, Clifford and wife Sandy Wear of Eustis.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred in 1976; and mother-in-law, Ada Purdy in 1990.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday January 19, 2006, at 10 a.m. at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge with Pastor David Rowe officiating. A private family inurnment will be held in the future.

Memorials may be sent in his name to the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary of Cambridge.
