Mary E. Gilbert Burch, 86, of Gothenburg died Sept. 3, 1999, at Hilltop Estates.

She was born June 18, 1913, to Roy A. and Annie E. McLaughlin Welch at Moorefield. She spent most of her life in the Cozad and Gothenburg areas.

On Jan. 2, 1942, she married Leonard Gilbert at McCook. He died in November 1969.

On July 26, 1984, she married George Burch. He died March 13, 1987. She moved to Gothenburg in 1987.

Mrs. Burch was active in women’s groups in Gothenburg.

Survivors include three sisters-in-law, Lucille Damerell of Salem, Ore., Geraldine Gilbert of North Platte and Marge Welch of Kentucky; a cousin, Ruth Welch Harris of Curtis; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Nellie and an infant twin, Marjorie and five brothers, Del, Lorand, Leland, Wayne and Fay Blayne.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Blase Memorial Chapel in Gothenburg. Burial will be in Fort McPherson National Cemetery south of Maxwell.
