Frank Daniel Zysset

Frank Daniel Zysset, 80, died April 27, 2001, at his home in Farnam.

He was born Oct. 29, 1920, to Christian and Wilhelmina Lemley Zysset in Orafino. He attended Hunt School District 60 through eighth grade. During World War II, he served in the armed forces and was stationed in Europe. It was there, while in Belgium, that he met his future wife. After his discharge from the Army, he sent for her to join him in America.

On Oct. 8, 1947, he married Celine Marie Lefebvre at Lexington. She preceded him in death Aug. 5, 1980. After working as a farm hand, he rented a farm north of Farnam for several years, and later moved into town. He then did custom farm work.

Mr. Zysset was active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars and won many awards for his services.

Survivors include a son, Daniel (Rachelle) of Brainard; a brother, Jess (Goldie) Zysset of Gothenburg; six grandchildren, Justin, Jenna, Amanda, Ashley, Jared and Andrew, all of Brainard; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Minna Zysset, Maggie Titchen, Mary Cromer and Martha, an infant; and three brothers, Paul, John and Carl.

Memorials are suggested to the Farnam VFW Post 8146.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Blase Memorial Chapel in Gothenburg with the Rev. Steve Bales officiating. Burial will be in Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell with the Farnam VFW Firing Squad 8146 providing military honors.
