Funeral services for Gerald Whitney, 72, of Chadron were held Friday, Nov. 4 at 2 p.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Mirage Flats with Rev. Carl E. Hunzeker officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Community Cemetery on the Mirage Flats.

A memorial has been established and donations may be sent in care of Chamberlain-Drabbels Funeral Home in Hay Sprngs.

Mr. Whitney died Monday evening Oct. 31 at Regional West Medical Center of Scottsbluff.

His survivors include his wife, Ruth of Chadron; two sons, Tom and wife T. Ariana of Hay Springs and Robert J. and wife Marla of Murdock, Neb.; two daughters, Linda and husband Larry Trout of Omaha, Neb. and Jane and husband Douglas Barker of Bothell, Wash.; one son-in-law, Leslie Anderson of North Platte, Neb.; and eight grandchildren.

Chamberlain-Drabbels is in charge of arrangements.
