FORMER FARNAM RESIDENT
PASSES AWAY IN CALIFORNIA

Word was received here last week of the death of Horace B. Hicks on June 3, at Walnut Park, California. Mr. Hicks was well known in this community, as he lived here for some time several years ago, during which time he was in business, being in the hotel business and he also run a newspaper here.

A short time before the world war, he sold out here and at the time of the war was in the employment of the government. He returned here for a short time after the war and then moved to California.

The following, which was taken from the Walnut Park paper, tells of his death and funeral:

Horace Bliss Hicks passed away at his home at 2483 Broadway Street, Walnut Park, California, June 3, aged 65 years, 8 months and 7 days. Deceased was a native of New York and went to California eight years ago. For the past three years he had resided in Walnut Park. Surviving him are his son, G.I. Hicks of 2843 Broadway, Walnut Park; his daughter, Mrs. Lila M. Stebbins of Lancaster, Calif., and three brothers, W. L. Hicks of Corona, Calif.; George B. Hicks of Muir, Mich. and C. F. Hicks of Tacoma, Wash. Funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Wheat-Halverson Chaperons, at Walnut Park, Calif. Rev. S.S. Sampson officiating.
