Ida Jane (Decker) Adams

Mrs. Ida Jane Adams, 84, mother of Mrs. J. O. Martin of Farnam and who resided here at the home of her daughter until last fall, died at the home of her other daughter, Mrs. Moeder in Grand Island, Nebraska Wednesday morning December 30. She had been in failing health for several years, death resulting from a heart ailment.

She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Decker and was born in Ohio April 18, 1858. Later the family moved to Elkhart, Indiana, where she grew to young womanhood and taught school for a time.

On March 30, 1876, at Elkhart she was married to Elmer Adams. Soon after their marriage they came to Nebraska and settled on land in Adams county. After ten years there, they moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan and resided there for ten years. In 1892, they moved to a farm near Eustis, Nebraska. Following this they resided at Cozad, Lincoln, and Grand Island, returning to Eustis in 1919. There her husband died on February 8, 1930. A son, Fred, also preceded her in death. Besides her two daughters, she is survived by three sons, Earl of Overton; Edward of Chicago and George of Lincoln; twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grancchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday at the Davis Funeral Home in Cozad with the Methodist minister officiating and the Eastern Star lodge assisting. Burial was in the Cozad cemetery beside her husband and oldest son.
