Milton A. Craig

Milton A. Craig, 84, of Brady, died Saturday, Nov. 7 at Gothenburg Memorial hospital. He was a lifelong resident of the Brady area. Services were held Tuesday morning at the Brady United Methodist church, Rev. Richard L. Dimond officiating. Music was provided by Carl Yonkers and Marilyn Btatten. Interment was in the Gaslin Cemetery. Casket bearers were Wade Craig, Kevin Craig, Randy Craig, Tim Hughbanks, David Craig, Mark Diehl, and Ricky Diehl. Honorary bearers were Oscar Anderson, Charles McCance, Milton Stanton, Wayne Pokorny, Paul Waltermire, Albert Connelly, Albert Borm, Albert Coleman, John Weber and Wayne Miller. Milton Alfred, son of Robert L. and Edith (Carlson) Craig, was born Jan. 29, 1903, south of Brady. He married Emma Mable Mercer on June 11, 1923. He moved to Brady in 1955 from a farm south of Brady. Survivors include five sons, Zane of Torrington, WY, Lyle of Maywood, Lennis of Ridgefield, WA, Deloit of Cozad, Bruce of Kearney; three daughters, Karen (Mrs. Kenneth) Diehl of Topeka, KS, Kay ( Mrs. Brian) Morris of Houston, TX, Coral Jean (Mrs. Clyde) Hughbanks of Hastings; one brother, Robert of Minden; 36 grandchildren and 53 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his wife, Mable, three sons; one daughter, three brothers, two sisters and two granddaughters. A memorial has been established to the Brady Rescue Squad.
