(Special to The Echo)

John Tyler Nall, son of John and Elizabeth Ellen Nall, was born near Franklin, Morgan County, Ill., Nov. 8, 1845 and died at his home in Moorefield, Nebr., Febr. 15, 1928. Age 82 years, 3 months and 12 days.

He was the youngest of a family of ten children all of whom have proceeded him to the great beyond. His father died when he was ten years of age, entrusting into his care his mother, and he proved worthy of the trust.

Following the march of progress westward, he moved with his mother to Frontier county, Nebraska, in 1887, homesteading three miles southwest of Moorefield; at which place he lived until his retirement six years ago, when he moved to Moorefield, residing there until his death. He was one of the early settlers of Frontier county and shared the hardships of the pioneers. He was an industrious and upright citizen, a kind and obliging neighbor, ever thoughtful of the comfort and welfare of his fellow citizens. His home life was above reproach, a most devoted husband and father. To him no personal sacrifice was too great to make for those he loved. From boyhood he lived the life of a Christian. Through diligent study of the Bible he was convinced that baptism by immersion was essential to salvation, and was baptized in the Baptist faith by the reverend E. T. Stinnette, only seven years ago.

Dec. 13, 1893 he was united in marriage to Miss Bertha Rogers of Moorefield. To this union were born five children: John Ellis, William Troy, Bruce Henderson, Mary Elizabeth and Phoebe Ann. He is survived by his wife, the five children, and four grand children.

A good man has gone to his reward, and we shall cherish his memory. The funeral services were held at the Moorefield Union church at 2: P.M. Saturday. Rev. Stanberry officiating.

The pallbearers were, Messrs. Ealy, Jurgens, Stoner, Stephenson, Harwick, and Walther. The remains were laid to rest in the Moorefield cemetery. The family has the sincere sympathy of the entire community as he was loved and respected by all who knew him.
