Death of Isaac H. Hobbs

Aged Father of J. E. Hobbs Responds
to the Long Roll.

Death invaded the Hobbs family last Monday night, when at 11 o’clock, Isaac H. Hobbs passed away at the home of his son, J. E. Hobbs.

Mr. Hobbs had a severe attack of pneumonia a few weeks ago, but had practically recovered from his illness. He was able to be up and around and came down town. His friends were glad to greet him upon his recovery. It seems he was too active and he suffered a relapse. His advanced years were against him and he steadily declined, death coming to his relief Monday night.

Had he lived until the 13th of next July, Mr. Hobbs would have been 75 years old. He was born in Columbus, Ill. In 1893 he came to Eustis and has made his moe most of the time with J. E. Hobbs.

For over thirty years the deceased had been a consistent member of the Dunkard church and was held in the highest esteem by all who knew him.

The funeral occurred Wednesday forenoon, the remains being laid to rest in the Eustis Cemetery, Rev. George Michler of Cambridge, conducting the service.

Mr. Hobbs’ wife died in Kansas, in 1891, and he leaves three children to mourn his loss, J. E. Hobbs, one of Eustis’ prominent merchants, Mrs. T. A. Brown and Jeff Hobbs, residing east of Eustis seven miles.
