Services for
Ira Austin Were
Held Friday

Ira O. Austin, son of Porter and Emma Austin, was born June 8, 1889, at Ingham, Nebraska and passed away at his home in Gothenburg on March 11, 1962. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, two brothers and one sister.

He was united in marriage December 8, 1908, to Myrtle May Miller. This union was blessed with nine children.

He is survived by his wife, Myrtle; four daughters, Mrs. Clyde Broden of Ft. Smith, Ark., Mrs. Clarence Rubenthaler of McCook, Mrs. Dave Wiltrout of Juniata, and Mrs. Ray Phelby of North Bend, Oregon; five sons, George of Enumclaw, Wash., Ira R. of Kansas City, Earnest of Hawaii, Robert of Valley Station, Ky., and Dwight of Gothenburg; three sisters, Mrs. Fred Rowland of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. G. W. Pollard of Boulder, Colo., and Mrs. Jim Craig of Gering; 27 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 16, 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Clarence Buehler officiating. Music was provided by the Methodist Men’s Quartet, accompanied by John Greene, Jr. Pallbearers were Alfred Woodburn, Darrell Haynes, Minor Lyne, Emil Friesenborg, Arthur Ostendorf, and Pat Martin. Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery.
