Ernest Jacobs, who has been sick for some time past, died at his home near this city last Thursday evening. Mr. Jacobs was one of the first settlers around Moorefield and was widely known and highly respected. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Pebler at the German Lutheran church in this city on New Year’s day. Interment in Moorefield cemetery. — Moorefield Chronicle, January 6
