Obituary Collection
POLLY McDERMOTT CALLED HOME

Miss Polly Adelia McDermott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael McDermott, was born at Albany, Wisc., Nov 21st, 1863 and died in the Platte Valley Hospital at North Platte, Nebraska, August 17th, 1924, age 60 years, 8 months and 26 days.

She spent her girlhood days at the old home at Albany, Wisc., until 1888 when she came west and homesteaded in Walker precinct, near the head of Plum Creek, in Lincoln county, Nebraska, where she has made her home with her brother Thomas on their father's homestead, practically ever since.

She leaves to mourn her loss; four brothers and three sisters, Thomas McDermott and Mrs. J. P. Burrows of Farnam, Martin H. McDermott of Wellfleet; J. A. McDermott of Richland Center, Wisc., and Lillie, Alfred and Dahlia McDermott of Albany, Wisc., six nephews, two nieces, fourteen great nieces and nephews besides a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.

She has always been kind and obliging and faithful to any trust committed to her care.

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 18 at 2:30 from Erbs Funeral Parlors at Gothenburg, Nebraska. Rev. J.E. Craig, pastor of the Congregational church of Farnam conducted the services, and interment was made in the Peckham Cemetery southwest of Gothenburg.

The Echo extends heartfelt sympathy to the sorrowing relatives in this sad hour.
