Obituary Collection
Life Sketch of Sarah Shull

Sarah Caroline Andrew was born in Alamance county, North Carolina, Nov. 6, 1841; she departed this life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carson E. Davis at Farnam, Nebraska. Aged 88 years, 5 months and 28 days.

While still a young girl she moved with her parents to Thorntown, Indiana. Here she grew to womanhood and at the age of 33 was united in marriage to David A. Shull of Thorntown. To this union were born 3 children: Tyner, of Sterling, Colorado; Mrs. Carson E. Davis of Farnam, Nebraska and Elmer, of Joliet, Illinois. She was stepmother to seven children from a former marriage.

In 1881, Mr. and Mrs. Shull and family moved to Syracuse, Nebraska, where they lived on a farm until a few years before the death of Mr. Shull when they moved to Syracuse. Mr. Shull died in June 1909. Since that time Mrs. Shull has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Davis.

She moved with her daughter to Farnam, Nebraska in the spring of 1919, where they lived on a farm until last fall, when they moved to town. Tyner was at her bedside a few days before her death and Elmer and Ora were present at death.

Mrs. Shull has seldom been away from home for the past several years. She was always contented and happy at home.

She has for all these years been a very faithful member of the Quaker church of Sugar Plain, Indiana.

She is survived by her three children, five stepchildren, several grandchildren and many friends.

She will be greatly missed by her friends and relatives and especially will she be missed by the Davis family, where she has been at home for the past 21 years, being both a help and influence in the care and raising of the family.
