Mrs. Martha Anna (Carr) Walker
Martha Anna Carr was born at Brussels, Ontario on April 23,
1858, and departed this life May 1, 1936, at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. Pearl Jagelski of Los Angeles, California at the
age of 78 years. She was united in marriage to John S. Walker at
Brussels, Ontario, on January 22, 1876. In the year 1890, the
family came to Farnam where Mrs.Walker made her home until five
years ago when she went to California. Her husband preceded her
in death in 1901.
Being a pioneer mother of this community, Mrs. Walker has
many friends who mourn her passing. She was a kind and loving
mother and a good neighbor.
She leaves to mourn her death, three sons and one daughter,
Percy F., Holbrook, Oregon; John H., Scottsbluff, Nebr., Richard
H., Los Angeles, Calif.; and Mrs. Pearl Jagelski, Los
Angeles, California. There are three grandchildren, Irene Ryan,
Los Angeles,Calif.; Murial Warner, Denver, Colo., and Elaine
Walker, Wallace, Nebr.
The last rites were held last Wednesday, May 6, beside the
grave in the Farnam cemetery with Rev. S. McKeown of the local
Methodist church in charge. Mrs. Dan McNickle and Mrs. Chas.
Pollard sang “Rock of Ages,” and “Saved by Grace”.
