Farnam Hich School's New Course - Shop

Perhaps you have noticed the fine new brick building west of the high school. It is the shop. Practically every boy in high school takes shop. Many are now working on projects from a variety of blueprints. Lawn chairs, tables and other things are being made of wood. Some of the boys are making punches, chisels and other things at the forge.

A workman needs good tools to get good results. The shop has a wide variety of good tools. It has a forge, anvil, and several motor driven tools, such as grind stone and lathe. A visitor will see a large drill also. Among the smaller tools are a set of dies, large planes, hammers of all sorts and sizes, brace and bits, squares, levels, files, saws, trowels, etc., socket, monkey and crescent wrenches are all to be found in the tool room the boys made.
