Farnam Top Six-Man Class D Team 1953

By Bill Fitzgerald, Star Sports Staff Member

Six-man football comes to a close in Nebraska with Indianola and Farnam at the top of the Class C and Class D fields.

The Star ratings were flexible throughout the season as listed teams suffered defeats, were dropped and replaced by their conquerors or other squads which sported impressive records.

Perhaps the largest hindrance to objective ratings was the fact that many of the best teams did not meet each other and were never pressed by their opponents. The result is the inclusion in the ratings of some unbeaten squads which look fine on paper but may not be as strong as a few teams which suffered defeats against stiffer foes.

...

Farnam beat seven teams to win the title. Wins over Palisade and St. Pats of North Platte were the highlights.

Alexandria takes second with nine wins against weaker competition. Palisade grabs third with good showings against Paxton and Farnam.
